Ecotric Leopard matte black

Ecotric Leopard ebike

It is a bit early to be writing a review, as time and use will tell if Ecotric proves a dependable ebike. But initial experience with both the ebike and the company have proved to be positive.
Compared to the other ebikes I was considering The Leopard came in at roughly half the price. So I took a chance based upon price.
The shipping time was exceptionally fast from time of purchase to delivery. Packaging was exceptional. Set up was hindered due to the front brake cable having been routed behind the front fork prior to the fork being installed. This prevented my attaching handle bars. A quick fix was to remove front brake cable from brake assembly - reroute the cable - and reattach.
My point in mentioning this minor fix is to amplify the price! The bike lists for a bit over $900 and sells for $800 plus with discount. To sell at that price Ecotric has to cut some corners. So if there is a minor issue with your purchase? Remember that bikes that sell for twice the price can also have issues.
In emails with Ecotric regarding issues or questions I have found them to be responsive, patient, knowledgable and helpful.
My early experience riding has been very enjoyable and satisfying. After an initial charge my battery appears to be good for well over 30 miles. I use it for short 3 to 7 mile rides on errands. I use peddle assist and find level 1 or 2 plenty for most hills. Although an occasional switch to level 5 is a lot of fun.
The Schimano 7 speed works flawlessly and suits my general riding needs. The Suntour front fork really helps with bumps, pot holes and bouncing over curbs. Light trail riding is a blast. Point being the components are not top shelf but for general riding they work fine and from my perspective they are a bargain at this price!
The welds on the frame look very well done & sturdy. But are not perfectly finished. Which I assume allows Ecotric to sell at this price. My front fork has the decals improperly applied on one side. Once again, for an ebike equipped as it is at this price, my focus is on function & not perfection.
All in all my initial experience with both Ecotric product and Customer Service has been very positive! Even with minor easily solved issues I give Ecotric Leopard and Ecotric Customer Service 5 stars!

Love it 🙌

Pretty good bike overall

Since this is essentially a mountain bike, I would have liked to see a 500 watt setup, but I was aware of the 350 watt when I bought it. I did notice a slight loss of assist when in a specific level as the battery discharged. When fully charged it has pretty decent pep. It is a tad heavy at 55 lbs so my wife cannot load the bike in the pickup. Also I would have liked to see a step through version of this off road bike. We ordered two and my wife never felt comfortable on it when she needed to stop and put her feet down. We were going to send hers back but with a 180.00 plus restocking fee we opted to sell it locally, with a reimbursement of a 150.00 (I assume this was for the warranty that cannot transfer) Customer support was good, I always seemed to catch people not in the office and on a couple of occasions they just weren't able to answer my questions or didn't know why I couldn't do something listed in the manual. The manual listed another assist setting to increase to pedal assist to 9, This was unattainable and a call to customer service resulted in a "well I don't know why it's in there, you shouldn't be able to do that". Assembly was easy and fast I had both put together in under an hour. I did find I needed to bring the handle bars back closer to me as I felt over extended, I also raised the bars about 3 inches to make it more comfortable to ride extended distances. The brake pads seem to wear rather quickly and were not used heavily. Over all its a good bike for the money. We test rode a couple of Trek's and opted to purchase these as it was several thousand dollars less and are good bikes. We wont do much off roading but did want to go on dirt or gravel hiking trails. I wouldn't be afraid to purchase one of these bikes, frame seems very sturdy and gears are good. Front shocks could use a little stiffing for my 200 lb frame but overall I enjoy riding it.
