*Ecotric bicycles set speed limit according to United States federal regulations, maximum speed in power mode is programmable and can be adapted to the local regulations of any country.

E Bike order was filled and delivered very quickly. Easy assembly, no missing or damaged parts. Folding 20” Ebike was purchased to travel on the back of my motorhome and provide auxiliary transportation at campgrounds and National Parks. Very impressed with the power of the 500 watt motor, especially up the hills. I was so satisfied I just put in an order for another one.
The bike is gorgeous and seems well made. The handles are a beauty and the seat is fantastic. I love the fact that the bike folds easily. I have been able to explore all sorts of places since purchasing this bike.
But there are several issues I had to deal with so far:
* The assembly instructions that come with the bike are garbage; you have to find a video on youtube to get the bike assembled. You will need more than one person to assemble the bike. Just so you know.
* Then there is an issue of brakes that in my case failed 200 miles into owning the bike. I had to have my rear brake replaced and now my front brake is acting up. The bike tech who replaced the brake told me they have replaced brakes on several Ecotric bikes, and it's a problem because of the multiple shortcuts made in the design. I think that almost $1000 would buy you a decent e-bike, but not according to Ecotric.
* The Pedal Assist seems to be all over the place. On a different day you get a different output at the same levels of pedal assist. No rhyme or reason for it.
* Getting a hold of anyone by phone is nearly impossible. I once had to call 17 times in a row to get a human to ask for advice on which model of Ecotric to purchase. I don't know why customer service is this bad. It shouldn't be. This isn't China, after all. I am afraid that should the bike require technical support, it will be an exercise in futility.
The bike is heavy even when you remove the battery, but it is liftable and packable. I am holding onto the hope that I won't have issues that can't be resolved for a while. This is a new bike.
Before committing to this bike, check out the Facebook group for Ecotric owners and read every post. That will allow you to see what you can expect and if the price is worth it.
Am very satisfied with with my purchase in every aspect. Received the bike in less than a week and found it very easy to put together. The quality of the bike is exceptional for the price. I would comfortably recommend this bike to anyone.
My wife decided to buy an E bike after selling her scooter. She reviewed many bikes and decided on Ecotric for features and price. it arrived fairly fast and I followed the YouTube video to set it up, which was fairly easy, She really enjoyed it. I tried it and I really liked it was well. I then decided to buy also. However, I bought the 48V instead of my wife's 36V bike, as I am quite a bit larger than she is. I thought the bike would use a lot more of the battery life with my added weight. The battery of the 48V is definitely more robust if you are a larger person, otherwise the 36V is more than enough. The other differences with the 48V is you get a display that shows your battery power, your assist speed and a odometer. The 48V has 5 assist speeds and the 36V has 3 assist speeds. Both have a 7 gear Shimona derailleur which is excellent. Both bikes are very well made and I think they are a very good quality for the money. We are also able to fold them and I can get both of them in the back of our SUV, even with luggage. Their is no need for a bike rack. They also have fat tires, so that if you go over sandy areas or lawns, you have much better traction that the typical narrow bike tires. The 48V also comes with a free rear storage rack. I did put that on my wife's bike as she likes to bring her purse or bag for her phone. If you have questions or need assistance, Jay has been very responsive. I would definitely recommend this bike in either 36V or 48V setup.
